The DE140 is a compact and powerful diamond core drill rig that has been designed to meet requirements for deeper and larger holes. The DE140 features a MaxTorque control and direct feed and is well suited for surface and underground exploration drilling, geotechnical drilling and medium diameter raise boring. A large number of options are available to match the most varied drilling conditions.

New Sandvik DE150 drill for deeper and larger holes

The new Sandvik DE150 is Sandvik’s most powerful exploration drill rig for underground exploration. A surface version is under development and will be ready for market Q4 2009.

Capacity for even deeper and larger holes
The DE150 is powered by a hydraulic motor producing class leading torque of 2000 Nm at 485 rpm. A hydraulic feed cylinder design gives a push and pull capacity of 15 tonnes (147 kN). Depth capacity is up to 2000 metres (NQ rods). In underground applications the DE150 is powered by a 110 kW (150 hp) electric power unit giving a maximum working pressure of 250 bar (3645 psi) and oil flow of 300 l/min (79 USG/min). For surface application the DE150 can be powered by a diesel engine.

Most compact and portable in class
The Sandvik DE150 shares many of the well proven components used by other drill rigs in the DE100-series. The drill unit features a stiff and torsion resistant steel profile feed boom and a direct coupled feed cylinder with a feed length of 1700 mm and feed speed of max 0.63 m/s. The feed boom is mounted on a frame with tilt cylinder and mechanical supports. The mounting frame has been specifically designed for quick and easy set-up when fan drilling with a full range of adjustment from vertical down to vertical up. The Sandvik DE150 offers exceptional push and pull capacity relative to its weight and size and is also available in steel for environments requiring explosion proof drill units.

Central control of all drilling
Sandvik’s DE150 Torque control enables optimal balance for torque and rotation speed. The control panel is a pilot operated hydraulic system which gives the operator central control of all drilling operations including flush pumps, wireline hoist and boom tilt. The system also controls hydraulic system pressure, feeding force, hold back pressure, water pressure and water flow.

Track mounted R/C-RAB drill rig manufactured in Perth, Australia, by Bostech Engineering Pty. Ltd. This rig is mounted on a Marooka MST 3300 steel tracked carrier. It is powered with a Deutz Diesel engine and fitted with a 435Psi, 720 CFM 2 stage Atlas Copco compressor. It has a capacity of 150 metres with a 4 ½” R/C hammer.
